Todays DIY is an easy crochet DIY for beginners. To be honest, we had never crochet before. So if we can do it you can do it. Okay, maybe it doesn't get an A, but hey it looks like pasta right? So let's learn to crochet pasta the easy way.
If it doesn't work for you, you can always just put the whole yellow yarn into the pan of your kids' play kitchen. I bet your kid like it even more.
Materials needed:
- Yellow yarn (we used 50gr)
- Crochet Hook (we used a 3mm)
- Scissors
- Darning Needle (we used a normal needle as we didn't have it)
How to make pasta crochet
Step 1
Start with a slip knot and make 13 chains (CH) stitches. One loop will remain on the hook. This is the foundation to begin every crochet project. Note: the slip knot does not count in this number.
Step 2
Now turn your work and start with single crochet (SC) until the end of the chain. Remember to skip the first chain stitch. You have now completed one row of single crochet. Make one chain stitch at the end of the row. Now turn your work counter-clockwise, leaving the hook in the chain.
Advanced: if you want a bubbly curve on the edges, you'll need to make an extra chain at the end of each row. Then turn your work and skip two chain stitches.
Step 3
Now repeat step 2 until you have made 10 single crochets.
Step 4
Now cut of your working end and pass the end of the yarn through the loop tightly. Weave the ends into your work using a (darning) needle and cut the remaining yarn. Now you've created a rectangle crochet.
Step 5
Now fold your rectangle, see image below, and put the needle through it. Now finish your farfalle pasta.
Bon appetite!
