Spice up your interior with @coraliefelicie

In our series called 'into the kids room' we chat with different interior design inspirators around the world. Peeking into their stylish rooms, sharing their take on interior design and their interior secrets.

This time we take a look into the colorful but calming interior of Coralie @coraliefelicie. We are in love with every room she creates and obsessed with her pink terrazzo kitchen. Together with her partner she designs the most beautiful interior creations. A unique house full of dreamy places.

My name is Coralie (33) and I’m in a relationship with Nicolas (33) for 16 years :). I am a doctor and Nicolas is an architect. We have 3 adorable kids: Félicie (8), Calixte (5) and Rose (2). We live in the city center in Nancy in the North-East of France where we have bought a house from the 1903’s with a garden that we have been renovating since the summer of 2020. We are passionate about decoration and interior architecture. 



How would you describe your interior design style?
It's an interior that resembles us. Colorful and soft at the same time with some unique objects and extraordinary color choices. An interior that is always in movement.



How do you get inspired?
I rarely look at interiors of other people. I like to associate colors and materials. Together with Nico I like to draw objects, furniture and interior plans which do not always succeed. Each object must find its place perfect to be highlighted. I love decoration magazines like Milk Magazine and Home Magazine.

What are your top 3 Instagram accounts to follow for home inspiration?
Milk Magazine. The sociality family. ferm LIVING.

How did you design your kids’ rooms?
All three kids bedrooms are completely different. We designed the bedrooms by looking at their personality and passions. We involved them in the choice of materials and colors, with a little bit of fine tuning in thee end ;)



Which colors did you use in your kids’ rooms?
Color palette son: white, camel and very dark blue.
Color palette girls: white, old rose and blue accents.

What are your favorite items in your kids room?
The three small wardrobes are my favorite. They are vintage and they have a lot of charm.



How do you find the right balance between function and style in the kids room?
It’s a tough challenge! The easiest way is to give each toy its own place for optimal storage. But I admit that we are still looking for some solutions. For my son we have designed a bed with integrated storage to hide all his Lego and dinosaurs, but it’s not yet built!



Where do you hide ;-) all the kids’ stuff?
We also built shelves into the walls and of course lots of trunks, baskets and boxes. This is the key .

Do you have any new plans scheduled for your kids room or have a wish list?Always. My head is overloading with ideas. It would take more than 3 children to make all the bedrooms that I have in mind ;) The bed for my son is our next project. I really like bedding and rugs. A queen size bed for Rose is also on my wish list.

Could you share us the ultimate tip on decorating a kids room?
Decorate with your heart and follow your intuition. Find your style, the one that will make you glance. Your interior has never mattered so much!
