01

Choose Your Doormat Placement and Measure Your Space

The measurement process begins with identifying where your doormat will live.

In your floor
(Recessed Mat)

Measure your recess horizontally (width) and vertically (length).

Always measure at multiple points, as walls and floors are rarely perfectly straight. If your space has corners or irregular edges, take the widest width and longest length. You can trim for a precise fit afterwards.

Use the largest measurements and round up to the nearest whole centimetre.

Order your exact measured size.

Since walls aren't always perfectly straight, we make your mat 5 cm larger in both width and length, giving you a trim allowance so you can adjust it at home for a perfect fit.

On top of your floor
(Surface Mat)

Measure the entrance area where you want your mat to sit.

Measure the width and length.

Round up to the nearest whole centimetre.

Order your exact measured size.

Corners or edges can be trimmed if needed. Your mat may vary by up to 1 cm due to the cutting process.

FAQ

Measuring & Installation

What is a made-to-measure doormat?

A made-to-measure doormat is custom cut to your exact dimensions, making it ideal for recessed entrances, unusual layouts and spaces where standard sizes don't provide the perfect fit.

What is the difference between a recessed floor and a surface mat?

A recessed mat sits inside a floor recess for a flush finish. A surface mat is placed directly on top of the floor without installation.

Can I place the mat in a recessed floor?

Yes. Our doormats are suitable for both recessed floors (mat wells) and placement directly on top of the floor.

How do I measure a recessed floor correctly?

Measure the inside width and length of your recess at multiple points. Since walls and floors are rarely perfectly straight, always use the largest measurements and round up to the nearest centimeter.

Why do you make recessed doormats slightly larger?

For recessed floor installations, we add approximately 2.5 cm extra on each side, in both width and length (5 cm extra in total for each). Since walls aren't always perfectly straight, this gives you a small trim allowance so you can achieve a precise, wall-to-wall fit on-site.

How do I measure a surface mat?

Measure the area where you would like the mat to sit and order your exact dimensions. We recommend rounding up to the nearest centimeter.

Can I trim the mat myself?

Yes. Our doormats can easily be trimmed at home using a sharp utility knife. For the cleanest result, trim from the back and work gradually.

Can the mat be cut into unusual shapes?

Yes. Our doormats can be cut to fit angled walls, corners and other unique layouts. This makes them ideal for older homes and non-standard entrances.

Product & Performance

What are the mats made from?

Our doormats feature a luxurious high-pile surface made from durable polyamide fibres and a PVC-free TPE anti-slip backing for reliable grip and long-lasting performance.

How thick is the doormat?

The doormat has a pile height of approximately 7 mm, offering a comfortable feel underfoot while remaining practical for everyday use.

Does the mat have an anti-slip backing?

Yes. Every doormat features a PVC-free TPE backing that provides reliable grip and stability.

Will the backing leave marks on my floor?

No. The PVC-free TPE backing is designed to provide reliable grip without leaving marks on your floor.

Does the doormat absorb moisture and trap dirt?

Our doormats can absorb up to 2.53 litres of moisture per square metre while helping to trap dirt before it enters your home.

Are the mats suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes. Our doormats are designed for busy entrances, hallways, offices and family homes, combining durability with long-lasting colour performance.

Is this doormat suitable as a drying mat?

Yes. The absorbent high-pile surface helps capture moisture from wet shoes while also helping to keep everyday dirt at the door. The mat also works as a dirt-trapping mat, capturing sand and debris from shoe soles before it enters your home.

Ordering & Care

Should I combine my doormat with an outdoor mat?

Yes. We recommend pairing your indoor doormat with a brushed outdoor mat. The outdoor mat helps remove coarse dirt and debris before it enters your home, while your indoor doormat absorbs moisture and traps finer dirt. Together, they help keep your floors cleaner and your doormat looking its best for longer.

Can I order a sample first?

Yes. If you'd like to see the colour and feel the quality first, samples are available to order. Browse our Samples collection to order yours.

Can I return my doormat?

As each doormat is produced specifically for your order, it cannot be returned or exchanged unless there is a manufacturing defect or quality issue.

How do I clean my doormat?

For regular maintenance, vacuum the mat frequently to remove dirt and dust. For deeper cleaning, use water and a mild natural soap solution. Allow the mat to air dry completely before placing it back in use.

Which colour is best for my entrance?

The best colour depends on your home and how the entrance is used. Lighter colours tend to show dirt more quickly, while darker colours are often a practical choice for busy households, children and pets.

Is the doormat OEKO-TEX® certified?

Yes. Our doormats are OEKO-TEX® certified and tested for harmful substances.

Do the colours stay vibrant over time?

Our doormats are designed to maintain their colour and appearance through everyday use. However, like most textile products, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may gradually cause colours to fade over time.
